EVENTS ORGANISED:

  • Over 100 protests, leafleting events and information stalls

EMAILS RECEIVED THROUGH OUR WEBSITE:

  • We received over 300 emails, through our website, in the past year from members of
    the public asking questions, seeking advice, requesting ‘Go Vegan’ packs, reporting
    animal cruelty and wanting to join our campaigns


THE FUR TRADE IN IRELAND:

  • Through Dail questions asked by Maureen O’Sullivan and Clare Daly, we can now
    confirm that there are now only 3 fur farms in Ireland
  • Once again we got real fur removed from Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, within hours, due to our online action-alert
  • We got fur removed from the Stephen’s Green Park Xmas Market within minutes, due to a surprise protest

BLOODSPORTS:

  • We monitored the Ward Union Hunt for illegal hunting every week throughout the
    season and as a result, we were able to capture the following footage:

    currently a court case pending
  • Protested the ‘Ward Union’ annual hunt ball

NEW CAMPAIGN STARTED:

  • We launched a new campaign against the live boiling of lobsters

OPEN RESCUE:

  • NARA, DAFA and AFAR openly liberated 9 lobsters from a restaurant in Dublin
    called ‘Ka Shing’: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnDV7IsRM34 This was the
    first ever open rescue in Ireland.

EVENTS PARTICIPATED IN:

  • Information stall at Dublin’s Vegetarian Day Fair
  • Information stall at the Anarchist Bookfair
  • Joined forces with AFAR, ICABS and Dublin-Meath Hunt Sabs for various protests
  • Attended the World Day for Animals in Laboratories rally in Cambridge
  • Our sub-group, ‘Vegan LGBT Ireland’ marched as official participants in Dublin’s Pride
    Parade – receiving TV, radio and newspaper coverage.

IRELAND’S FIRST ANIMAL PROTECTION DRONE:

  • Due to the generosity of our supporters, we were able to raise enough money to
    purchase a drone, and get official training for it, so now we will be conducting
    investigations and producing expose videos regularly, as well as filming illegal
    hunting activity when the season starts


OTHER CAMPAIGNING NEWS:

  • Took part in various radio/tv/newspaper interviews, school talks, and debates on
    animal rights issues throughout the year
  • We have started producing campaign/protest videos regularly, which can be

  • We exposed DIT students posing with murdered rats in laboratories
