CAMPAIGN NEWS:

  • Paul Murphy TD introduces ‘Animal Health & Welfare (Ban on Hare Coursing) Bill 2020’, on 16th September 2020, which should go to second stage (a vote) by the end of 2021.
  • Produced a book on all documented ALF actions in Ireland, which can be purchased here: https://alfsgireland.com/products/alf-ireland-book
  • Sent every TD, and a number of Senators, a printed copy of James O’Donovan’s report ‘Transition to an Irish Vegan Agricultural System’, which you can download here: http://vegansustainability.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/FullReportPub.pdf
  • After a lengthy delay due to Covid-19, the Irish government finally completes and approves the legislation to ban fur farming in Ireland.
  • Took part in various radio and newspaper interviews, school talks, and debates on animal rights issues throughout the year, via Zoom.
  • Due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, we had to cease our protests and usual forms of activism during each lockdown, but we were able to replace them with daily online action-alerts.
  • During this time, we also decided to use our normal leaflet budget on social media ads, which has generated a lot of interest and support for our campaigns, from all over Ireland.
